What Is SunPlay?

SunPlay is a soft, multi-layer coating system built to turn ordinary concrete into a surface people actually want to spend time on. Why Choose SunPlay?

Concrete is strong, but it's also hard, slippery when wet, and uncomfortable in extreme heat. SunPlay solves that with a cushioned, slip-resistant layer that makes both outdoor and indoor spaces safer and more enjoyable, especially anywhere bare feet and water mix. In Tampa's climate, SunPlay also delivers:

  • Slip resistance for wet, high-traffic environments
  • Long-lasting color that resists fading from sun exposure
  • Resistance to chlorine and harsh chemicals
  • Low-maintenance with minimal upkeep required

The result is a surface built for fun, but engineered to hold up year after year in Tampa Bay's conditions.

SunPlay is both durable and beautiful.

Where Does SunPlay Work Best?

SunPlay fits nearly any property where safety, durability, and visual appeal matter. Around Tampa, it's a great fit for:

Community & commercial spaces

  • Community parks
  • Waterparks
  • Recreational zones
  • Waterfront communities

Residential & shared amenities

Anywhere people gather to play, relax, or cool off, SunPlay helps build a surface that's safer and more enjoyable to use.

SunPlay is ideal for playgrounds, pool areas, splash pads, and anywhere else that aesthetics, safety, and durability are needed.

Can SunPlay Be Applied Indoors?

Yes, SunPlay works just as well indoors as it does out. Its cushioned, slip-resistant surface and customizable design make it a strong indoor option, from indoor pools to play spaces, SunPlay brings the same comfort, durability, and visual appeal wherever it's installed.

SunPlay transformed the deck in this indoor pool area, creating a comfortable, durable surface that will last for years to come.

What Does SunPlay Look Like?

Practical surfaces don't have to be plain. SunPlay comes in more than 12 standard color blends, with custom combinations available too. From bold, energetic palettes for children's play areas to subtle, natural tones for upscale residential pools, the finish adapts to fit the character of any space.

That design flexibility also lets property owners and designers build in visual zones, patterns, or coordinated color schemes that tie into surrounding architecture and landscaping.

SunPlay can be customized according to the style and needs of any location.

How Is SunPlay Installed?

Like any quality concrete coating system, SunPlay's performance depends on proper prep work and finishes with a protective coating. Installation should always be left to trained professionals, but here's a general look at the process:

  1. Surface Preparation. New concrete needs at least 28 days to cure before installation begins. Existing surfaces get a thorough cleaning, with old coatings, paint, or sealers removed. Grinding or other prep methods may follow to ensure proper adhesion, and the surface must be fully dry before moving forward.
  2. Application. A SunPlay primer goes down first. Once dry, a polymer layer spreads evenly across the surface, followed by a second layer where thermoplastic (TPV) granules get broadcast in for traction and texture. Extra layers can add depth or vibrancy as needed. Two coats of acrylic sealer finish the system for protection.
  3. Curing. Foot traffic can resume in as little as 12 to 24 hours, with safe water exposure after 48, making SunPlay a solid fit for projects on a tighter timeline.

A Surface Designed for Play and Peace of Mind

SunPlay brings comfort, safety, color, and durability together in one seamless system. Whether it's a neighborhood splash pad, a busy apartment pool deck, or a private backyard retreat, this soft-surface coating helps build environments that are safer, more inviting, and built to handle everyday use throughout Tampa and the surrounding area.
